Rønn Eliasen appointed chairperson of Theatre Council in Fuglafjörður

Rønn Eliasen, who has served as the cultural director of Fuglafjörður Municipality for nearly ten years, has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Theatre Council.

Eliasen takes over from Margretha Nónklett, who stepped down due to personal reasons.

Among the tasks ahead for the Theatre Council, overseen by Sirið Stenberg, the Minister of Education, are plans to build a new national theater and appoint a new director for the National Theatre.

In addition to the new chairperson, the Theatre Council now includes members Benjamin Gaasedal, Vár Berghamar Jacobsen, Ria Tórgarð, Heini Gaard, Barbara Hentze í Stórustovu, and Arnfinnur Nesá.
