The police have proposed the detention of a seventh suspect in connection with a murder investigation in Kujala, Lahti. A hearing regarding the detention will take place on Friday afternoon at the Päijät-Häme District Court.

The investigation began after the body of a man was discovered in early August, following a fire at his private home on Korvenrannantie in Kujala. While the police have remained tight-lipped about the details of the investigation, reports indicate there are ambiguities surrounding the rental agreements and ownership of assets related to the property.

Crime Commissioner Ville Hahl confirmed that the investigation has progressed to the point where one previously detained suspect will be released on Friday—specifically, a 40-year-old man from Lahti. Earlier this week, the police also released two other individuals who had been detained on suspicion of murder: a man and a young woman.

The remaining suspects are still in custody, all of whom have prior criminal records.
