Cost of Suðuroy Tunnel remains unclear as project details wait for tender confirmation

It is currently unclear what the cost of the Suðuroy Tunnel will be, as the project has yet to be put out for tender. This was confirmed by both the Prime Minister and Erhard Joensen, a member of the political advisory group, during a morning broadcast.

Erhard Joensen also expressed concerns regarding the future of Suðuroy, stating, “Suðuroy is on the verge of disappearing, and we need a tunnel.” The need for improved connectivity has become increasingly urgent, as residents and local officials emphasize the significance of the tunnel for the archipelago’s development and sustainability.
