Late on Tuesday evening, police were alerted to a suspected shooting in Bagarmossen, a district in southern Stockholm. A 16-year-old boy was found seriously injured at the scene and later died in hospital. The police conducted a technical examination of the crime scene overnight, however, no arrests have been made so far.

According to reports, the 16-year-old had no known links to gang crime and was not the intended target. Tobias Lövström, the commanding officer of the Stockholm Police, commented on the situation, “I cannot confirm or deny, but we are working with various leads.”

Police presence had been increased in the area on that particular evening following an earlier shooting. Despite this, they were unable to prevent the murder of the 16-year-old. The commanding officer noted, “This indicates the incredible ruthlessness of the perpetrators. We need to do more as a society to address this issue.”

Shootings and gunfire continue to be an issue in Stockholm, and the murder of the teenager in Bagarmossen is a grim reminder of the ongoing problem.
