Prosecutor discontinues investigation against Richard Jomshof over anti-Islam drawings in Sweden

Chief Prosecutor Joakim Zander has decided to discontinue the preliminary investigation against Richard Jomshof, a politician from the Sweden Democrats (SD). Zander stated that the rationale behind this decision is that sharing the images in question did not constitute a criminal act.

Jomshof was reported to the police after he posted two anti-Islam satirical drawings on the social media platform X. Following the allegations of incitement against a particular group, he temporarily stepped down from his position as the chairman of the parliamentary justice committee.
