Car collides with tram in Helsinki, causing minor injuries and traffic delays

A collision between a tram and a car occurred in Helsinki on Hämeentie, Pitkäsillalla, just after five o’clock on Wednesday. One person from the car was taken to the hospital for examination.

According to police, the car drove onto the rails in front of the tram. The police received the report of the incident at 17.25. The car is being towed from the scene. The tram did not suffer significant damage and traffic is now flowing normally again.

According to the Helsinki Region Transport (HSL), trams are now able to operate normally, but delays are still expected for at least about an hour.
