A serious accident occurred at Brúarfoss in Bláskógabyggð, South Iceland. Details about the incident are currently limited. Emergency services have been dispatched, including two helicopters from the Coast Guard. Divers from the capital region’s fire department are also en route to the scene by helicopter.

Jón Þór Víglundsson, spokesperson for Landsbjörg, confirmed the accident but noted that concrete information is scarce at this time. Þorsteinn M. Kristinsson, the chief police officer for the Southern region, also confirmed the incident; however, he could not provide further information.

Ásgeir Erlendsson, a spokesman for the Coast Guard, indicated that police requested assistance from the helicopter unit. One helicopter has already arrived at the scene, while the second, which is carrying paramedics and divers, is on its way.
