Klaksvík’s IT systems offline after significant cyberattack
The IT systems of the Municipality of Klaksvík remain offline following a significant cyberattack over the weekend.
The attack was extensive, resulting in several IT systems being shut down, impacting not only the municipality’s administration but also the North Islands Housing and Home Care services as well as children’s dental care.
Rúni Rasmussen, the municipal chief, stated that the situation is being closely monitored and that efforts are underway to restore services as quickly as possible. The municipality is working with cybersecurity experts to assess the damage and prevent further breaches.
