Police are proposing the arrest of a sixth suspect in the murder case in Kujala, Lahti. A detention hearing will take place at the Päijät-Häme District Court on Monday afternoon. Crime Commissioner Ville Hahl indicated that the sixth individual, who is under investigation, has a significant prior criminal record. Some of the suspects have dozens of convictions, including property crimes. One has even been convicted of murder dating back over two decades.

The man is presented for arrest on probable cause for suspected murder and aggravated robbery. The police are investigating the case of a 69-year-old man who was found dead in early August following a fire at his home on Korvenrannantie. While the police have remained tight-lipped about the investigation, they report that it is progressing well. So far, five suspects have already been detained—four men and one woman—all of whom remain in custody.

According to Etelä-Suomen Sanomat, there are ambiguities related to rental issues concerning the property and the ownership of assets found on the premises.
