Police investigate father’s role in death of ten-year-old girl in Iceland

The police are receiving numerous tips and evidence in the investigation into the death of a ten-year-old girl that occurred on Sunday. According to Elín Agnes Kristínardóttir, an assistant police chief in the central investigative department, the girl’s father, who is suspected of having caused her death, has been cooperative but has not been interviewed since Wednesday. The father is deemed competent to stand trial according to a preliminary mental health assessment. Elín Agnes stated that the investigation is progressing well.
