Immigrant advocate meetings held at Children’s Hospital in Reykjavik over Yazan Tamimi’s rights

Immigrant issues have come to the forefront as advocates for the rights of disabled individuals and a legal representative for the twelve-year-old Yazan Tamimi and his family held meetings at the Children’s Hospital in Reykjavik, where Yazan is currently hospitalized. The discussions involved Yazan, his mother, and healthcare professionals.
Advocates are concerned that Yazan’s rights were severely violated when he was forcibly removed from a healthcare facility by the police and taken to Keflavik International Airport, where he was made to wait for several hours on the early morning of Monday. At the time of this incident, Yazan had not yet been discharged from the hospital.
In response to the situation, the National Commissioner of the Police requested a meeting with the chief legal advisor for the rights of disabled individuals. This request is presumably in relation to Yazan’s case.
