The Finnish government has announced that the planned increases in tobacco taxes will commence in November. The proposal for these tax hikes was presented to the parliament on Thursday. The initiative aims to raise tobacco taxes in six phases, with an overall average increase of 27.1 percent. The increments will be implemented approximately every six months, with the final increase scheduled for July 2027. Once all adjustments are complete, the cost of a cigarette pack, currently priced at around 10 euros, is expected to rise to approximately 13.2 euros.
