Funding returned to political party after late financial statements in Norway

Last year, the Prime Minister’s Office provided a political party with funding for political activities and information, due to the 2022 financial statements not being submitted by June. The financial statements were finally delivered in July, leading to the return of funds to the party, as noted by the National Auditor in the 2023 annual report.

A separate financial statement from another party was also submitted late last year, coming in May. The audited financial statements are required to be available by April 1 at the latest.

The audit findings confirmed that no payments will be made if legal requirements are not met, emphasizing that procedures must be properly followed.

Since 2016, the allocation for political activities has remained at 4.8 million kroner.
