Two men remanded in custody for homicide in Lahti, Finland

Two men are suspected of involvement in a homicide that occurred in Lahti at the beginning of August. The Päijät-Häme District Court has remanded the men in custody on strong grounds for suspicions of murder and aggravated robbery. The victim, a 69-year-old man, died in a fire at his house on Korvenrannantie.
Investigation leader Jari Kiiskinen has remained tight-lipped about the details but has confirmed reports of a murder investigation. According to South-Eastern Finland’s local newspaper, there are complications related to rental issues regarding the property and the ownership circumstances of items located there.
The suspects, aged 38 and 35, have prior criminal records, including multiple convictions for property and traffic offenses.
