Man dies in boating accident at Lohjanjärvi Lake in Lohja, Finland

A man has died in a boating accident at Lohjanjärvi Lake in Lohja, according to a statement from the West Uusimaa police. Authorities were alerted to the scene around 9:30 PM on Thursday evening, after reports indicated that a boat had collided with a rock and people were in the water.
Emergency response teams, including police, rescue services, and a medical helicopter, were dispatched to the location. Following a search, two individuals were discovered on an island: one was the boat’s driver, while the other was a passenger; however, one passenger remained missing.
Investigations revealed that the boat had crashed at high speed into rocky shorelines, causing all occupants to be thrown from the vessel. There were three individuals on board in total: the driver and two passengers.
About an hour after the accident, a diver from the rescue team located an unresponsive man in the water, who was later pronounced dead. This man was identified as the other passenger.
The police are treating the incident as a serious violation of traffic safety and as a case of aggravated manslaughter. They are also looking into the potential involvement of alcohol or other substances in the case.
