Motorcyclist killed in traffic accident in Lohja, Finland

A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident in Lohja yesterday, according to a statement from the Police of Western Uusimaa. The incident occurred on Hankoniementie shortly before 6 PM. A fully loaded truck was heading towards Hanko when it encountered the motorcycle.

Prior to the collision, the motorcycle had veered unexpectedly toward the front of the truck for reasons that are still under investigation, noted Commissioner Hannu Kontola in the statement. The motorcyclist died instantly, while the driver of the truck emerged uninjured and received the necessary support following the accident.

The road at the accident site was closed for several hours. Authorities are investigating the event as a serious violation of traffic safety.
