Fire breaks out at treatment center Stuðlar in Reykjavík, child suspected of ignition

A fire broke out at the treatment center Stuðlar in Reykjavík around noon. According to staff, it is fairly certain that a child currently residing there started the fire.

The executive director of the Children and Family Agency’s treatment division stated that their response was swift and effective, allowing the fire to be contained within the room where it originated. Ongoing efforts are being made to clear smoke from the premises. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
