The police in South Iceland have issued a warning regarding a surge in thefts involving payment cards. In recent days, there have been two reported incidents where individuals have had their bank cards stolen, leading to fraud at ATMs.

Authorities stated that a group of people has been seen monitoring users as they enter their PIN codes at ATMs. After observing this, they have stolen the cards and used them themselves.

Police urge anyone who believes they may have fallen victim to this criminal activity to contact their bank immediately to block their cards and report the incident to law enforcement.
