The Helsinki police have euthanized a moose that was roaming the urban areas of Munkkisaari and Eira beach early in the morning. The notification about the animal came in from Henry Ford Street around 4:30 AM. According to the police command center, the decision to euthanize the moose was made because it posed a potential danger in a busy and densely populated area, particularly during morning traffic. Authorities believe the moose may have entered southern Helsinki by swimming. The shooting occurred shortly after 5 AM, and the Border Guard assisted the police in the operation, while the local wildlife management group later removed the moose’s remains.
