Fire burns at wood chip storage facility in Aura, Varsinais-Suomi

A large fire is currently burning at a wood chip storage facility in Aura, located in Varsinais-Suomi, covering an area of 500 square meters. The on-duty chief, Juha Virto, from the Varsinais-Suomi Rescue Department, informed Yle that the blaze poses a threat to a nearby broiler farm, which rescue teams are working to protect. Initial reports indicate that there are approximately 80,000 broilers at the facility. A total of 27 rescue units have been dispatched to the fire site on Tammentie.
