Nes Municipality approves new retirement age of 72 following Tórshavn’s elimination of retirement age

During a municipal council meeting this week, Nes Municipality approved a new retirement age of 72. In February 2022, Tórshavn Municipality eliminated the retirement age for its employees.
Currently, the local government employers’ association has not updated statistics regarding retirement ages across the Faroe Islands’ municipalities.
