Three landslides occur in Barðaströnd, Westfjords, due to heavy rainfall

Three landslides have occurred in Barðaströnd, Westfjords, since last night due to heavy rainfall. According to reports from the landslide monitoring team at the Meteorological Office, the slides took place on a hillside between two farms, Hlíð-ytri and Innri-Múla. Fortunately, the landslides did not affect any roadways, and no damage has been reported as a result. The Meteorological Office is warning of potential landslides and rising water levels in the southern Westfjords and Snæfellsnes areas due to the ongoing heavy precipitation.
