Deputy Mayor of Tampere Ilkka Sasia will not face charges for alleged offenses
Ilkka Sasia, the Deputy Mayor of Tampere, will not face charges for alleged offenses. Joni Köykkä, the regional prosecutor for Western Finland, has decided not to prosecute Sasia. He had been suspected of sexual harassment and alcohol-related offenses that reportedly took place in December of last year in Tampere.
In August, Sasia was temporarily removed from the city council groups of both the National Coalition Party and the Swedish People’s Party due to what the groups described as inappropriate behavior and a lack of trust. Sasia has stated that he is a concerned party in an ongoing preliminary investigation related to accusations of attempted extortion and illegal threats. This investigation is still active.
Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
