Helsinki District Court to deliver verdict in homicide case involving 44-year-old man accused of murdering ex-wife

Today, the Helsinki District Court is set to deliver its verdict in a homicide case involving a 44-year-old man accused of murdering his ex-wife. The crime took place last November at the woman’s residence in West Pasila, Helsinki. According to the prosecutor, the man was extremely jealous and continued spending time with the woman despite their divorce.

The murder occurred in the evening, after the children had gone to bed. The prosecutor alleges that the man stabbed the woman with two different knives, leading to her rapid death from the injuries.

While the man denies the murder charge, he admits to having committed manslaughter. He has undergone a mental health evaluation as part of the proceedings.
