Wolf euthanized in Lappeenranta, southeastern Finland due to aggressive behavior

A wolf that had been roaming near residential areas in Lappeenranta, southeastern Finland, was euthanized on Sunday due to its aggressive behavior. According to local police, the wolf was seen in the neighborhoods of Törölä, Kankaanranta, and Vilkjärvi, as well as in the areas of Husula and Junttola, all located 15 to 20 kilometers from the city center.

Police reports indicated multiple sightings of the wolf, which behaved threateningly and showed little fear of humans. Initially, the authorities issued a warning to residents and attempted to drive the animal away from populated areas. However, as these efforts proved unsuccessful and the wolf was deemed a danger to public safety, the police made the decision to have it put down.
