Electricity prices in Finland drop to negative values during the day according to Nord Pool data

Data from the electricity market Nord Pool, reported by Pörssisähköä.fi, indicates that the price of electricity on the exchange is negative throughout the day today. The lowest price occurs in the afternoon between 2 PM and 3 PM, when the cost drops to -2.00 cents per kilowatt-hour. The highest price is seen after 10 PM, with a rate of -0.05 cents per kilowatt-hour.

In a spot electricity contract, consumers pay the market price of electricity, in addition to the supplier’s margin and electricity transmission fees.
