Winds attract surfers to Emäsalo in Porvoo, Finland

The strong winds over the weekend have attracted surfers to the waters, particularly in Emäsalo, Porvoo. The winds reached speeds of about 18 meters per second, which surfers deemed suitable for surfing, although they felt the waves could have been taller—Saturday’s waves were around 1.5 meters.

Emäsalo is one of the most popular surfing spots along Finland’s southern coast. Ideal conditions for surfing in Finland are rare, typically occurring only a few days each year, usually in the autumn.
