Community mourns loss after accidental shooting at Hálslón in Iceland

A moment of silence and memorial services are set to take place due to a tragic accident at Hálslón, a lake north of Vatnajökull, where a man in his forties lost his life due to an accidental shooting while hunting geese. A period of quiet reflection will be held at Heydalakirkja in Breiðdal tonight at 8 PM, followed by a memorial service at Norðfjarðarkirkja tomorrow evening at 6 PM.

The community on the East Coast of Iceland is coming together to cope with this shocking event. In the memorial service at Norðfjarðarkirkja, health professionals from the East Iceland Health Care Institution and the Red Cross will also be present to offer support.
