On August 4, Marius Borg Høiby was arrested by police near his home in Skaugum, Asker, at Jansløkka School. He is currently facing charges of assault against a woman and property damage in her apartment from that night. Høiby has admitted to the charges, claiming he was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine during the incident. This acknowledgment was made in a detailed statement sent to the press.
Just a few days prior, Høiby’s defense attorney noted that he had not yet taken a stance on the charges, stating, “But in reality, this is an acknowledgment of guilt,” according to comments made afterwards.
Høiby agreed to discuss his actions on August 14, revealing he had “committed assaults and damaged property” while intoxicated. He expressed a desire to take responsibility and cooperate with the police, also apologizing to the woman he referred to as his girlfriend.
In addition, two of Høiby’s former partners have come forward alleging they were victims of violence from him.
