Fire breaks out at Porin police station in Finland after individual ignites mattress

A small fire broke out at the Porin police station’s detention facility on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Southwestern Finland Police, an individual in a cell started a fire by igniting a mattress. Police officials noted that such incidents are relatively rare. The Satakunta Rescue Department received an alarm about a medium-scale building fire at the police station shortly after 3 PM. Firefighters extinguished the flames and ventilated the premises. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The Porin police station is located near the city center on Satakunnankatu, right next to the Satakunta Rescue Department.
