Hot water has begun to flow into nearly all neighborhoods of the capital area that had previously been without due to construction work by the utilities company at Suðuræð 2. However, it is expected to take several hours to restore full pressure in these areas.
The work to connect Suðuræð 2 was completed yesterday evening at approximately 10:40 PM, after which the water was gradually allowed to flow back into the main pipeline, finishing around midnight. Following this, water was progressively introduced to the affected regions. Residents who had shut off their water intake are advised to reopen it slowly, in accordance with guidelines provided by the Plumbing Masters Association.
