Savoa Partners withdraws appeal against Satakunta welfare region’s decision to end contract

The Market Court will not rule on the Satakunta welfare region’s decision to stop using the services of the consulting firm Savoa Partners. This is because the company has withdrawn its appeal. The reasoning behind Savoa Partners’ decision to retract the appeal is not made clear in the documents seen by Yle. The Satakunta welfare region has stated that no negotiations took place with the company regarding this matter.

The welfare region had purchased consulting services from Savoa Partners for €450,000 for this year but canceled this decision through a procurement correction, leading to the company’s appeal to the Market Court. The retraction of Savoa Partners’ services follows concerns raised in the spring regarding the company’s questionable practices. The welfare region lodged a police report in March related to potential breaches of data protection, suggesting that consultants had improperly accessed patient records and listened to calls between patients and caregivers. The company faced significant criticism for its other operational methods as well.

Savoa Partners was initially hired to assist the Satakunta welfare region in developing a team model for healthcare centers and remote care solutions. According to the company, over 90% of patients at healthcare centers can be treated remotely. As of now, Yle has not succeeded in reaching Savoa Partners for comments regarding the withdrawal of their appeal.
