Foreign Affairs Committee and Prime Minister to discuss WTO membership for Faroe Islands

Tomorrow afternoon, the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Prime Minister will hold discussions regarding the WTO.

For a long time, the government has been working towards securing independent membership for the Faroe Islands in the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Negotiations with the Danish government on this issue have been ongoing, but there has yet to be a consensus that would pave the way for Faroese membership in the WTO.

The pursuit of independent Faroese membership in the WTO will continue to be prioritized by the government, as stated in the supplementary report from the Prime Minister presented during the Ólavsøka festival.
