The terrace dispute between the Seurahuone Hotel in Turku and a neighboring residential association is ongoing. The residential association has appealed to the Turku Administrative Court against a deviation decision made by the City Environment Committee, which allows the construction of a terrace in the hotel courtyard. This terrace is located at the corner of Eerikinkatu and Humalistonkatu.
The residential association claims that the terrace would cause significant disturbances, including noise and odor issues, for the residents of the neighboring building. The dispute over the terrace between Turku Osuuskauppa and Asunto Oy Humalkivi has been ongoing for several years, and the granted construction permits have previously been overturned in court on two occasions.
Currently, the city believes that the residential association’s latest appeal against the deviation decision should be dismissed. The City Environment Committee is expected to discuss the statement to be submitted to the Administrative Court today, Tuesday.
