Man goes on trial 34 years after brutal New Year’s Eve murder in Copenhagen

On New Year’s Eve in 1990, 23-year-old Hanne With was found murdered in her apartment. The young woman had suffered numerous injuries and had been both strangled and stabbed. Now, 34 years after her murder, a 54-year-old man is on trial in the Copenhagen City Court. According to experts, his DNA and barefoot prints were found at the crime scene. The accused does not dispute these findings but denies being guilty of the murder. He claims to have experienced a blackout on that New Year’s Eve. Today, three expert witnesses are to give their testimonies.
