Man engages in sexual acts with horse in Lier, Norway
A shocking incident has come to light in Lier, Norway, where a stable owner, Karina Espedal, discovered that a man had engaged in sexual acts with one of her horses. Suspicion arose when her horses repeatedly escaped from their stall, prompting her to install a surveillance camera. The footage revealed a man sneaking into the barn under cover of darkness.
Espedal described the horrifying scene where the intruder approached a horse, committed disturbing acts, and released the horses afterward, posing a significant danger to the public. “Having a horse running onto the E18 at high speed could be as dangerous as a moose crossing the road,” she emphasized, noting changes in the horses’ behavior since the incident.
Another local horse owner, Odd Eriksen, also encountered the intruder. He found his stable door ajar and discovered signs of distress among his horses, including bruises likely caused by the assailant. After notifying the police, forensic officials discovered DNA evidence in the stable.
In an unsettling twist, Eriksen later confronted the man after installing a mobile alert surveillance system. The encounter left him shaken, and although the intruder fled, Eriksen expressed relief that the situation did not escalate to violence.
Law enforcement views the two incidents as potentially connected. Despite having secured DNA evidence, police currently lack a suspect but are investigating several persons of interest. Prosecutor Bjørn Bakko assured the public that this case is a top priority for dedicated investigators focusing on animal welfare crimes. He urged vigilance among residents as they continue their inquiries.
