Light rain did not stop Iceland Airwaves attendees from moving between venues on Saturday night, as the festival’s third evening delivered a series of highlights, mbl.is reported.
Long queues formed outside Lemmy for Irish rock band Bleech 9:3, with crowds gathering there for much of the evening. British band Heartworms, led by Jojo Orme, followed with pop rock that was warmly received. Knackered closed the night at the venue.
Reykjavik City Hall also drew a large audience. Mackenzie Leighton opened the programme, followed by Bjarni Daníel, Mugison and Una Torfa. Kaktus Einarsson then took the stage with a full band and won over the crowd. His new album has attracted considerable attention, and he delivered a strong performance as one of the evening’s main acts. British party band The Itch closed the programme.
At Kolaportið, Harlem rapper Liim chatted with the audience between songs. Birnir followed, then duo Sex Week eased the mood before Inspector Spacetime brought the evening to a close with what mbl.is described as a proper party.
