Drivers are being warned to expect strong wind gusts in the Westfjords, Northwest Iceland and the Tröllaskagi peninsula this afternoon, mbl.is reports, citing a meteorologist’s note from the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration.
Gusts of 25 metres per second or more are expected in southwesterly winds. Drivers are urged to take care, particularly if their vehicles are vulnerable to strong winds.
The winds are expected to ease this evening, though not on Tröllaskagi until after midnight.
