Singer-songwriter Malte Ebert is removing his song “En ild der altid brænder” from all streaming services, he said in an Instagram post, DR reports. The song featured in the criticized TV 2 programme “Alle elsker Rasmus”, which the broadcaster removed from its platform on Saturday.
Ebert wrote that the song was originally written for his fiancée, not for the series, and had personal meaning for him. But he said it had become associated with a programme he could not support. Ebert has apologised to Rasmus Wallbridge and for taking part in the show.
TV 2 has launched an internal investigation into the programme. Wallbridge was subjected to a four-month prank in which he believed he was making his first feature film. Instead, he became the subject of his own programme, which has been accused of adult bullying.
A total of 149 people, including Ebert and Wallbridge’s friend and collaborator Martin Johannes Larsen, took part in the deception. Everyone except Wallbridge knew the premise. After filming, Wallbridge was given the opportunity to decide whether the programme should be released.
