Baldvin Nielsen, an Elvis Presley fan since childhood, met the singer’s widow, Priscilla Presley, in Randers, Denmark, mbl.is reports.
Priscilla was in Randers to discuss her life with Elvis at a well-attended event. A select few were also given the chance to meet her privately earlier that day.
Baldvin said Priscilla was “the kindest” and gave him an autograph and a photograph taken by a professional photographer. In the picture, he put his arm around her, taking care not to hurt her.
“She said, ‘It’s all right!’ Then I relaxed, looked down at her and she looked up at me, and we smiled at each other,” Baldvin said.
Priscilla told him that Henrik Knudsen, owner of the Elvis museum in Randers, deserved credit for the event. When Iceland came up, she seemed thoughtful about the fact that Reykjavik is less than a three-hour flight from Copenhagen and five hours from New York.
“I mentioned it in case she might think to herself, ‘Iceland, why not? Let’s go!’” Baldvin said.
