Andri Már Eggertsson, known as Nablinn, has resigned from his job at Baug preschool in Kópavogur after nearly eight years, mbl.is reports. The sports journalist and comedian shared the news in a Facebook post.
He worked part-time at the preschool while also reporting on sports for television, appearing on podcasts and hosting events. In his post, he thanked Baug for the time there and encouraged boys to work in preschools.
“After nearly eight years as an employee at Baug preschool, it is time to put the nappy aside,” he wrote. He said it was difficult to leave a great workplace and that he was grateful for the colleagues, parents and children he had met.
Eggertsson said he had initially expected to work there for only a few months after finishing school, but quickly found the work rewarding. He recommended that boys try working at a preschool, “or at least at Baug, where it is great to be.”
He also joked that he had vomited only twice while changing the many dirty nappies he had encountered during his career. He said he would miss the children, who reminded him that he was losing his hair and waited to grow taller than him.
In a final joke, he asked friends with pinworms or lice to email him, saying he would miss starting to itch whenever someone mentioned that either was going around.
