The Red Cross of the Faroe Islands will hold its nationwide fundraiser live on television tomorrow evening, KVF reports. The event will take place at the Nordic House, and this year’s fundraiser also marks the organisation’s 100th anniversary.

Money raised will support the Red Cross’s work in the Faroe Islands and around the world, said its chairman, Jóannes Eidesgaard.

In the Faroe Islands, the organisation helps families and individuals facing financial hardship, runs activities to prevent loneliness and build community, and provides training in first aid and emergency preparedness. Internationally, it responds to wars, natural disasters and other crises, with support from the Faroe Islands helping provide aid, protection and safer conditions.

The broadcast will be hosted by Elin á Rógvi and Uni Holm Johannesen. It will include interviews, reports on humanitarian work and performances by Annika Hoydal, Tøgn, Danny Baldursson, Ólav Højgaard and Martin Joensen, Guðrun Sólja, and Sophilia.
