Court gives Finnish barber 30-month prison term for sexual assaults
North Savo District Court has sentenced a barber to two years and six months in prison for three sexual assaults involving children and one other sexual assault, Yle reports.
The man, born in 1979, must also pay compensation to the victims for suffering and cover legal costs. The court heard the case behind closed doors.
While cutting customers’ hair at his barbershop, the man leaned against them, touched them and kissed them without their consent. In the offences involving children, he pressed his erect body against the victims. The children were aged 12 to 14 at the time.
The defendant denied the charges. The judgment is not yet final.
The court also considered a separate assault charge against another man, who admitted hitting the barber once. He was sentenced to 20 day-fines.
