Software company Visma Solutions is beginning change negotiations affecting 365 employees in customer service and software development, Yle reports. The company has not made any decisions, but up to 80 jobs could be cut.
Chief executive Juhani Mönkkönen said changing technology, including the effects of artificial intelligence on programming, is altering how software is developed and what customers expect. The changes are being felt particularly in product development and customer service, and the company is reviewing roles in those areas.
The negotiations are expected to continue until late November or early December. Visma Solutions employs more than 500 people in Finland. Its headquarters are in Lappeenranta, where 85 employees in product development are included in the negotiations. The company also has offices in Helsinki, Tampere, Pori, Jyväskylä and Oulu.
Visma Solutions is part of the Norwegian software group Visma. It makes, among other products, electronic signature software and financial management programs.
