Seven labor disputes referred to state mediator in Iceland
Seven labor disputes have been referred to the state mediator and remain unresolved. One of these disputes has been escalated to arbitration. This involves a conflict between the Icelandic Customs Officers’ Association and the state’s negotiating committee, according to the mediator’s response to an inquiry from the news agency.
Additionally, the mediator is also handling disputes between the Icelandic Medical Association and the state’s negotiating committee, a disagreement involving professional unions and the Confederation of Icelandic Employers regarding Landsnet, a dispute between the Icelandic Aircraft Engineers’ Association and Atlanta, a conflict involving the AFL trade union and the Association of Icelandic Municipalities, a dispute between ship officers and the Confederation of Icelandic Employers regarding foreign vessels, and finally, a dispute involving the Icelandic Electrical Workers’ Union and Verne Global.
