Heavy rain has been reported in the northern part of the Westfjords and Strönd region overnight and into the morning. In Súðavík and Gjögri, rainfall measurements reached 14 millimeters, while Ísafjörður recorded seven millimeters over a few hours. Continued rainfall is expected, and the avalanche alert from the Meteorological Institute indicates an increased risk of rockfalls and landslides due to the intensity of the precipitation.
