Lesiskúlin may have to cut its activities unless its funding is increased, KVF reports. The school says it cannot maintain an adequate service for people with reading and writing difficulties without a larger allocation.

Lesiskúlin has 70 students and is currently open for eight months a year. That is not enough to meet demand, according to the report.

The school received 2.75 million kroner in the current fiscal year. The proposed budget for next year keeps the allocation unchanged.

Durið Eyðbjørnsdóttir, a board member of the interest association for people with reading and writing difficulties, says the school may have to reduce its activities if its funding does not rise.
