Helsinki police investigate suspected large-scale pimping operation

Helsinki police are investigating a suspected criminal operation involving the pimping of several dozen victims, Yle reported. Police say all the victims have foreign backgrounds.

The suspected offences took place in Helsinki, elsewhere in the capital region and in other large and medium-sized cities in Finland. Police suspect the case is connected to international organised crime.

The investigation concerns aggravated pimping and aggravated money laundering. Police are also examining whether there are grounds to suspect human trafficking.
