Two men arrested following violent incident in Trondheim, Norway
Two men in their twenties have been sought by police following a violent incident in downtown Trondheim over the weekend. A third suspect remains at large.
The two apprehended will appear in Trøndelag District Court on Thursday for a custody hearing, where law enforcement is requesting full isolation. John R. Sødahl Furunes, the lead prosecutor in the case, stated, “We have conducted a thorough investigation which led to yesterday’s arrests. The accused will be detained to prevent evidence tampering. We take this incident seriously and are actively working to locate the third suspected individual. We encourage him to turn himself in.”
The incident involved the victim being dragged out of a white e-Golf car near Nedre Elvehavn in Trondheim, occurring between 2:20 AM and 2:40 AM on Sunday, August 11. Furunes indicated that both the three wanted men and the injured individual are known to police. “The incident does not appear to be random,” he noted earlier in the week. “We have some ideas regarding potential motives, but we will refrain from discussing them at this stage.” The police do not consider the unapprehended suspect to be a danger to the public.
