Dinosaurock will not return to Mikkeli after its organiser filed for bankruptcy, Yle reports. The festival company, Dinosaurock Oy, submitted its application to the South Savo District Court on Monday.
The festival was held for two summers at Visulahti, a tourism centre. Last summer, about 6,000 people attended over three days, falling short of the organiser’s target.
Dinosaurock returned in 2025 after a long break, but attendance also missed its target that year. Both festivals made a loss, and promoter Mikko Jokipii said bankruptcy was the only option.
Jokipii said the company would try to meet its financial obligations as well as possible, but apologised that some creditors would not receive what they were owed. He estimated that shareholders would be left with debts of several tens of thousands of euros.
Jokipii cited the event’s scale and its choice of performers among the reasons it failed. Last summer’s festival featured 25 acts.
